The Bible mandates free market capitalism. It is anti-socialist. Free Document [Gary North].

The Bible mandates free market capitalism. It is anti-socialist. The proof is here: 10,000 pages of exposition, verse by verse.

The essence of democratic socialism is this re-written version of God’s commandment: “Thou shalt not steal, except by majority vote.”

“Economic democracy” is the system whereby two wolves and a sheep vote on what to have for dinner.

Retirement Armageddon: The Video Seminar [Gary North]

Gary North
Retirement Armageddon (Click here for link)

Feb. 5, 2010

I gave a 90-minute seminar in December. It covered the economics of Social Security and Medicare.

The seminar was released in January as a DVD. I persuaded the producer to let me post it on my site.

Most people have heard some of the bad news. They have not heard it without the sugar coating. The reality is grim. How grim? Watch the video.

The sad thing is this: those who are most likely to be adversely affected are trapped. Some have retired. Others plan to, on the assumption that their retirement portfolios will sustain them. Yet their portfolios are in sad shape. They will have to sell assets in order to live comfortably.

How long can they do this before their assets are depleted? Then what?

Meet with Dr. Gary North – The Bulwarks of the Conservative Movement – Part 5 of 6

From: TheGaryDeMarShow | August 02, 2010  | 192 views
The key book that led the conservative movement in the 20th century was “The Road to Serfdom” by the author F. A. Hayek. On the other end of the economic philosophical spectrum was John Maynard Keynes. These two economists were friends at Cambridge, but they were both battling for the economical worldviews of British leadership. Hayek’s book was made popular when Reader’s Digest chose to write a summary article of the book. This launch the conservative ideas into the public sphere, ultimately into popular reading of the intellectual American right. Accelerating the impact of Hayek’s book was Henry Hazlitt’s “Economics in One Lesson,” that was published a year later. These two books forced a complete rethinking of the war time economics and ‘the new deal.’

Meet with Dr. Gary North – Movie Magic Crippled Conservatives – Part 4 of 6

From: TheGaryDeMarShow | July 26, 2010  | 454 views
In 1960, two movies, not made for money, sought to negatively influence the public opinion of Christianity. These movies, “Inherit the Wind” and “Elmer Gantry,” going hand-in-hand with the counter cultural movements of the 60s, led the conservative movement to go ‘underground’. This ultimately gave rise to a conservative movement’s comeback in the late 1970s. The flagships of the conservative movement that broke the silence of the underground were the magazines The Freeman and National Review. Anti-communism sentiment gave rise to pro-conservative economics that are still present in America today.

Meet with Dr. Gary North – Bishop Sheen’s Morally Conservative America – Part 3 of 6

From: TheGaryDeMarShow | July 26, 2010  | 435 views

Dr. Gary North, personal eyewitness to the development of the conservative movement throughout 1950-2010, an expert economist, highlights the behind-the-scenes events of the conservative movement from an insiders’ perspective. The publication of the The Freeman and National Review established the conservative movement throughout the last half of the 20th century, but the key conservative figure was Bishop Sheen—the Glenn Beck of his day. This catholic bishop had greater impact than Mr. Television. Sheen led the general moral majority, that America lacks today….

Meet with Dr. Gary North – What’s the Modern Definition of a Conservative? – Part 2 of 6

From: TheGaryDeMarShow | July 20, 2010  | 158 views

Adam Smith and Edmund Burke are the most significant figures of the founding in the conservative movement of America. Their similarities and differences in the early 19th century formed the basis for the traditional moral values group and the libertarian group comprised in the conservative movement. These two sides of the conservative movement have lasted to this day, with the addition of the economics group of conservatives brought about by the new development of the Tea Party group. Modern leaders of the conservative movement, like Glenn Beck, and Ron Paul, are driving forces of the established conservative movement that goes all the way back to Smith’s and Burke’s day of American history.

In this video, Gary DeMar interviews Dr. North (in six parts) about his brand new DVD series “The History of the Conservative Movement” (available now at AmericanVision.com). This is part two of the six parts of the interview.

Making Sense of the Conservative Movement – Part 1

From: TheGaryDeMarShow | July 20, 2010  | 342 views

Today’s major political parties do not understand true conservative principles. Part of the cause for this is contemporary politicians do not know what the basis for the conservative movement is, or was, at the start of American history. Few resources and teachers today know what the history of the conservative movement is—how it got to where it is today. We can make sense of the conservative movement if we look at these three things: the movement’s values, funding, and media. We look at these three points throughout the course of American history to get better understanding of the movement.

In this video, Gary DeMar interviews Dr. North (in six parts) about his brand new DVD series “The History of the Conservative Movement” (available now at AmericanVision.com). This is part one of the six parts of this interview.
